Ephesians 2:22
In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

Study Note
'In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.' The architectural metaphor of Ephesians 2:19-22 — foundation of apostles and prophets, cornerstone of Christ, building fitted together, temple of the Lord — culminates in the community becoming the Spirit's dwelling. The temple imagery transfers the unique place-of-meeting between God and humanity from the Jerusalem sanctuary to the gathered multi-ethnic community in Christ. Revelation 21:22's declaration that the New Jerusalem has 'no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple' represents the eschatological completion of what Ephesians 2:22 declares inaugurated.
