Old Testament

Aspatha was one of the ten sons of Haman, who were executed after their father's downfall (Est.9.7).

Aspatha was one of the ten sons of Haman the Agagite, the chief minister of King Ahasuerus who plotted the annihilation of the Jewish people throughout the Persian Empire (Esther 9:7). Following Haman's execution and the reversal of his decree, Aspatha and all ten of Haman's sons were killed by the Jews in Susa on the thirteenth of Adar. Their bodies were subsequently hung at Esther's request. The execution of Haman's entire male line represents the complete destruction of the threat against Israel, echoing the principle of thoroughgoing justice central to the book of Esther's theology.
