Chislon

Exodus & Wilderness > · H3692
Old Testament

Chislon was the father of Elidad, a leader from the tribe of Benjamin.

Chislon was the father of Elidad, a leader from the tribe of Benjamin appointed by God to assist in the allotment of Canaan among the tribes (Numbers 34:21). The ten tribal representatives, one from each tribe (excluding Reuben and Gad, who had already received their portions east of the Jordan), worked with Eleazar the priest and Joshua to oversee the fair distribution of the Promised Land. Chislon is remembered solely as the father of one of these divinely appointed land commissioners.
