Gazez was a son of Caleb and his concubine Ephah, born after Haran.
Gazez appears twice in the Judahite genealogy of 1 Chronicles 2:46, both as a son of Haran (who was the son of Caleb's concubine Ephah) and as a grandson through Haran. This double mention may reflect a scribal duplication, a deliberate genealogical emphasis, or the naming of a son after his father. He belongs to the Calebite branch of Judah and is preserved only in these genealogical notices without any narrative context.
