Joiada served as a high priest during the Persian period, succeeding his father Eliashib.
Joiada son of Paseah helped repair the old gate of Jerusalem during Nehemiah's rebuilding project, working together with Meshullam son of Besodeiah (Nehemiah 3:6). He is one of many workers identified by name in the detailed account of wall repair that testifies to the broad community involvement in Nehemiah's restoration. Beyond this single reference, no other information about Joiada is preserved.
