Libni

Libni was a son of Mahli and a descendant of Merari son of Levi, listed in the Merarite genealogy of 1 Chronicles 6:29. He is part of the Levitical lineage within the clan of Merari, which was assigned to carry the heavy structural elements of the tabernacle during the wilderness wanderings. A different Libni son of Gershon appears in Exodus 6:17 and Numbers 3:18 as the ancestor of the Libnite clan within the Gershonites.
