Neri was an ancestor of Jesus, mentioned in Luke's genealogy.
Neri was an ancestor of Jesus listed in Luke's genealogy as the son of Melchi and father of Shealtiel, placing him in the royal Davidic line during the exilic period (Luke 3:27). Luke's genealogy through Nathan son of David diverges from Matthew's at this point, and the names in this branch of the genealogy are largely unattested in the Old Testament. Neri appears only in this genealogical passage.
