Paseah

Divided Kingdom Tribe of Judah · H6454G
Old Testament

Paseah, a son of Eshton, who was from the tribe of Judah.

Paseah was a son of Eshton, a descendant of Judah through Chelub, listed in the genealogy of 1 Chronicles 4:12 alongside his brothers Beth-rapha and Tehinnah, who is described as the founder of Ir-nahash. He belongs to the Kenizzite or Calebite branch of Judah in the southern hill country. A man named Paseah also appears as the father of Jehoiada who helped repair the Old Gate of Jerusalem under Nehemiah (Nehemiah 3:6), though whether these represent the same family line is uncertain.
