Rejection

20 versículos

The experience of being refused, excluded, or cast aside, which Christ himself bore supremely. Isaiah 53:3 prophesied the Messiah as 'despised and rejected by mankind.' Jesus was rejected by his hometown (Luke 4:28-29), by religious leaders (John 1:11), and ultimately by the crowds who cried 'Crucify him!' (Mark 15:13-14). Peter, who denied Christ, later wrote that Jesus is 'the living Stone — rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him' (1 Peter 2:4). Psalm 118:22 declares the rejected stone became the cornerstone. God identifies with the rejected and promises inclusion: 'Those who are last will be first' (Matthew 19:30).
