Ammizabad

Ammizabad was the son of Benaiah son of Jehoiada, one of David's three greatest mighty men (1 Chronicles 27:6). When Benaiah was assigned to command the third military division—responsible for the third month's service rotation—his son Ammizabad served as his second-in-command or deputy in charge of the division. Benaiah himself became commander of the whole army under Solomon. Ammizabad's role as his father's deputy indicates the hereditary character of military office in the Davidic administration, where distinguished families passed positions of leadership from one generation to the next.
