Beor

Beor was the father of Bela, the first king named in the list of Edomite kings who ruled before any king reigned over Israel (Genesis 36:32; 1 Chronicles 1:43). His son Bela reigned in the city of Dinhabah. Beor is mentioned solely as the father of this early Edomite ruler, and his name should not be confused with Beor the father of Balaam the prophet (Numbers 22:5), though the two names are identical in Hebrew.
