Eran was a son of Shuthelah and grandson of Ephraim, who became the head of the Eranite clan.
Eran was the son of Shuthelah and grandson of Ephraim, listed as the founder of the Eranite clan within the tribe of Ephraim (Numbers 26:36). He is mentioned in the second wilderness census as the head of one of Ephraim's family divisions. His genealogical position places him among the second-generation Ephraimite families who formed the tribal subgroups that later settled the central hill country of Canaan.
