Old Testament

Geber, the son of Uri, was one of the twelve district governors appointed by King Solomon to provide food for the royal household.

Geber son of Uri was one of Solomon's twelve district governors who provisioned the royal court for one month each year, assigned to the district of Gilead in Transjordan (1 Kings 4:19). The administrative system he served in was designed to distribute the burden of supporting the royal household across the entire kingdom. His district, encompassing the territory of Sihon king of the Amorites and Og king of Bashan, was one of the largest in Solomon's administrative map.
