Haggiah was a Levite from the family of Merari, listed in 1 Chronicles 6:30 in the genealogy of Levitical singers. He was a descendant of Merari, Levi's third son, through the line that included Mahli, Mushi, and other Merarite ancestors. The Merarite Levites were assigned to transport the frames, bars, pillars, and bases of the tabernacle and later served in the musical guilds of the Jerusalem temple.
