Jehozabad

Jehozabad was a Levite, a son of Obed-edom, who served as a gatekeeper for the ark of the covenant during the reign of King David (1 Chronicles 26:4). His father Obed-edom was the man in whose house David had placed the ark after the death of Uzzah, and God blessed his household greatly during its three-month stay (2 Samuel 6:11). A Jehozabad son of Shimrith also appears in 2 Kings 12:21 as one of the servants who conspired against King Joash—a different individual from the Levitical gatekeeper.
