Ludim

Early Patriarch · H3866G
Old Testament

Ludim, a son of Mizraim and progenitor of a people group.

Ludim were the firstborn descendants of Mizraim (Egypt), listed in the Table of Nations as one of the seven peoples descended from Egypt (Genesis 10:13; 1 Chronicles 1:11). They are distinguished from the Semitic Lud son of Shem and are associated with a North African people, possibly connected to Libya or the Libyan people known to ancient Egypt. They appear alongside Lehabim, Naphtuhim, Pathrusim, and other Hamitic peoples in the ethnographic register.
