Mesha

Mesha was a son of Caleb and Jerioth listed in the tribe of Judah's genealogy, identified as the father (i.e., founder) of the town of Ziph in the hill country of Judah (1 Chronicles 2:42). He is one of several descendants of Caleb credited with founding or settling Judahite towns, reflecting the genealogical convention of expressing territorial settlement through ancestral names. Mesha appears only in this genealogical record and is known solely through his founding role.
