Old Testament

Parshandatha, one of the ten sons of Haman killed by the Jews.

Parshandatha was the firstborn son of Haman the Agagite, listed first among the ten sons killed by the Jews of Susa on the fourteenth of Adar following Haman's downfall (Esther 9:7). The Persian names of Haman's sons reflect the thoroughly Persian context of the book of Esther. Esther requested that the bodies of the ten sons be displayed publicly, and this was carried out by royal decree (Esther 9:13–14). Parshandatha appears only in this single passage.
