Ashvath

Ashvath was a son of Japhlet and a descendant of Asher, listed in the genealogy of the tribe in 1 Chronicles 7:33. He is one of three sons of Japhlet—Pasach, Bimhal, and Ashvath—identified as heads of ancestral houses in the Asherite genealogical record. The tribe of Asher settled in the northwestern coastal region of Canaan and the western Galilee highlands. Ashvath appears in no narrative episode and is known solely from this genealogical notice, which preserves the tribal clan structure of Asher during the early settlement period.
