Attai

Attai son of Zabad the Gadite was one of David's mighty warriors who joined him at Ziklag before the battle of Jezreel (1 Chronicles 12:11). He is listed in the extended catalogue of David's warriors in 1 Chronicles 12, which supplements the lists in 2 Samuel 23 with additional names of those who supported David before his kingship was established. The Gadite warriors were described as crossing the Jordan in flood season to reach David—an extraordinary feat demonstrating their dedication (1 Chronicles 12:15). Attai's inclusion in this roster marks him as a founding member of David's military establishment.
