Azor

Azor was an ancestor of Jesus Christ, appearing in Matthew's genealogy of the Messiah (Matthew 1:13–14) in the post-exilic section of the lineage. He stood in the royal Davidic line during the era of exile and return, linking the periods of Zerubbabel and Abiud. Though no narrative details accompany his name, his place in the messianic genealogy gives him lasting significance as one of the forebears through whom God preserved the royal seed of David.
