Chesed

Chesed was a son of Nahor and Milcah, Abraham's brother and sister-in-law, listed among the eight children Milcah bore to Nahor (Genesis 22:22). His name is connected etymologically with the Chaldeans (Kasdim), suggesting that he may have been regarded as an ancestor of that Mesopotamian people. Chesed is known only from this genealogical list, which the narrator inserted at the moment Abraham received news of his brother Nahor's family.
