Eliasaph

Exodus & Wilderness Tribe of Gad · H0460G
Old Testament

Eliasaph, the son of Deuel, was the leader of the tribe of Gad during the wilderness journey.

Eliasaph son of Deuel (or Reuel) was the divinely appointed leader of the tribe of Gad during Israel's wilderness journey, responsible for the census of his tribe and the coordination of their encampment and march (Numbers 1:14; 2:14). At the dedication of the tabernacle, Eliasaph presented Gad's tribal offering on the sixth day, including silver and gold vessels, burnt offerings, sin offerings, and peace offerings (Numbers 7:42–47). His leadership role made him the official representative of Gad during the formative period of Israel's national organization.
