Elon the Hittite was the father of Basemath, one of Esau's wives.
Elon was a judge of Israel from the tribe of Zebulun who judged for ten years (Judges 12:11–12). The biblical account of his career is among the briefest in the entire book of Judges, offering only his name, tribe, duration of service, and burial location at Aijalon in the land of Zebulun. No military deeds, family details, or specific acts of leadership are recorded. He is one of five minor judges—Tola, Jair, Ibzan, Elon, and Abdon—whose notices serve to fill out the chronology between the major deliverer narratives and possibly to indicate periods of stability after significant conflicts.
