Eri was a son of Gad and the head of the Erite clan.
Eri was a son of Gad and grandson of Jacob, listed in Genesis 46:16 and Numbers 26:16 as the founder of the Erite clan within the tribe of Gad. He was among the seventy members of Jacob's family who descended to Egypt, and his descendants were numbered in the second wilderness census. His clan formed one of the family divisions through which the tribal identity of Gad was maintained across the generations of the Exodus and wilderness period.
