Genubath

Genubath was the son of Hadad the Edomite prince, born in Egypt to Hadad and Tahpenes, the sister-in-law of Pharaoh (1 Kings 11:20). He was raised at Pharaoh's court among Pharaoh's own children, a remarkable social elevation for the son of an Edomite exile. His story is told as background to the account of Hadad as one of the adversaries God raised up against Solomon, and illustrates the geopolitical entanglements of Solomon's era.
