Hanoch was one of the sons of Midian, a grandson of Abraham through his concubine Keturah.
Hanoch was a son of Midian and grandson of Abraham by his concubine Keturah, listed in Genesis 25:4 and 1 Chronicles 1:33 as one of five sons of Midian who gave their names to Midianite clans. The name Hanoch (meaning 'dedicated' or 'initiated') is also borne by a son of Reuben (Genesis 46:9) and the famous antediluvian patriarch Enoch. The Midianite Hanoch represents one of the tribal divisions of the Midianite confederation that inhabited the desert regions east of the Gulf of Aqaba.
