Hephzibah was the mother of King Manasseh, who ruled over Judah.
Hephzibah was the wife of King Hezekiah of Judah and the mother of Manasseh, who succeeded his father on the throne (2 Kings 21:1). Her name, meaning 'my delight is in her,' is also used symbolically in Isaiah 62:4 as a future designation for the restored land of Israel. As the queen consort of one of Judah's most reforming kings, Hephzibah occupies a significant if briefly noted place in the royal line of David.
