Hul was one of the sons of Aram and a grandson of Shem, mentioned in the genealogies of Genesis and 1 Chronicles.
Hul was a son of Aram and grandson of Shem, listed in the Table of Nations in Genesis 10:23 and 1 Chronicles 1:17 as one of the ancestors of the Aramean peoples. Together with his brothers Uz, Gether, and Mash, Hul represents the ethnographic diversity attributed to the Semitic branch of humanity in the biblical genealogical schema. Various later traditions have connected the name Hul to regions in the northern Levant, though precise identification of the associated geographic area remains uncertain.
