Jathniel

Divided Kingdom Tribe of Levi · H3496
Old Testament

Jathniel was a Levite who served as a gatekeeper during the reign of King David.

Jathniel was a Levite, a son of Meshelemiah the Korahite, who served as a gatekeeper at the sanctuary during the reign of King David (1 Chronicles 26:2). He was the fourth of Meshelemiah's seven sons listed in this verse, all of whom received gatekeeper assignments for the temple. The Korahite gatekeepers were responsible for guarding the entrances of the house of God, a duty that carried both honor and spiritual responsibility in Israel's worship tradition.
