Jeriel

Exodus & Wilderness Tribe of Issachar · H3400
Old Testament

Jeriel was one of the sons of Tola and a leader in the tribe of Issachar, as mentioned in the genealogy in 1 Chronicles.

Jeriel was a son of Tola from the tribe of Issachar, listed in 1 Chronicles 7:2 as one of the heads of fathers' houses who were mighty warriors. The Tola family is noted for their military strength, with a total of 22,600 fighters. Jeriel belonged to this warrior clan of Issachar whose leadership is recorded in the census of David's military resources. The tribe of Issachar was traditionally praised for its discernment and leadership (1 Chronicles 12:32), and Jeriel's family exemplified its martial aspect.
