Among the descendants of Jozadak, some priests were found to have married foreign women during the time of Ezra.

Jozadak (also called Jehozadak) was a priest taken into Babylonian exile when Nebuchadnezzar conquered Jerusalem, and the father of the high priest Jeshua who led the returned exiles in rebuilding the altar and temple (Ezra 3:2; 1 Chronicles 6:14–15). His exile and Jeshua's subsequent return bridged the Solomonic and Second Temple priesthoods. Among his priestly descendants some had married foreign women during the exile and were required by Ezra to put them away (Ezra 10:18).
