Mehida was an ancestor of temple servants (Nethinim) who returned to Jerusalem from Babylonian captivity.
Mehida was the ancestor of a family of temple servants (Nethinim) who returned to Jerusalem from Babylonian captivity with Zerubbabel (Ezra 2:52; Nehemiah 7:54). The Nethinim were a class dedicated to serving the Levites in the temple, and their return from exile was essential to the restoration of proper temple service. Mehida appears only as the eponymous ancestor of this returning group.
