Melea

Divided Kingdom Tribe of Judah · G3190
New Testament

Melea, mentioned in Luke's genealogy of Jesus.

Melea appears in Luke's genealogy of Jesus as a son of Menna and father of Eliakim, placed in the royal line from Nathan son of David through the post-exilic period (Luke 3:31). He is part of the distinct Lucan genealogy that traces Jesus' ancestry through David's son Nathan rather than Solomon. As with many figures in this genealogy, Melea is not independently attested in the Old Testament.
