Meshelemiah (also called Shelemiah), a Levite gatekeeper during David's reign.
Meshelemiah, also called Shelemiah, was a Levite gatekeeper of the Korahite branch appointed to guard the north gate of the sanctuary and the storehouse during David's organization of temple service (1 Chronicles 9:21; 26:1–2, 9). His son Zechariah was appointed over the north gate as well, and together their family held a prominent gatekeeping station. Meshelemiah's assignment reflected the careful division of Levitical duties that David established in preparation for the temple Solomon would build.
