Meshillemith (also called Meshillemoth), a priest who settled in Jerusalem after the Babylonian exile.
Meshillemith, also rendered Meshillemoth, was a priest of the house of Immer who settled in Jerusalem after the Babylonian exile and is listed among the priestly families who took up residence in the holy city (1 Chronicles 9:12). His son Meshullam continued the priestly line. The priestly genealogy in 1 Chronicles 9 serves to establish the legitimacy of the post-exilic religious establishment by connecting it to the pre-exilic priestly orders.
