Ohel

Divided Kingdom Tribe of Judah · H0169
Old Testament

Ohel was a descendant of Judah through the line of Zerubbabel.

Ohel was a son of Zerubbabel, the post-exilic governor of Judah who led the first wave of returnees from Babylon, listed in the Davidic genealogy of 1 Chronicles 3:20. He belonged to the royal line of David in the generation immediately following the exile, demonstrating the continued survival of the house of David in the early restoration period. His name, meaning 'tent,' has no obvious symbolic significance in this context. Ohel appears only in this genealogical record.
