Oholibamah was one of Esau's wives, a descendant of Seir the Horite.
Oholibamah was one of the three Canaanite wives of Esau, the daughter of Anah son of Zibeon the Horite who lived in the hill country of Seir (Genesis 36:2, 14). She bore Esau three sons—Jeush, Jalam, and Korah—who became chiefs of Edom (Genesis 36:18). Her name, meaning 'tent of the high place,' may reflect a Horite cultic background. She is also listed as one of the Edomite chiefs in her own right (Genesis 36:41), an unusual designation for a woman that may indicate tribal leadership.
