Pithon

United Kingdom Tribe of Benjamin · H6377
Old Testament

Pithon, a descendant of King Saul, mentioned in the genealogies of the tribe of Benjamin in 1 Chronicles.

Pithon was a descendant of King Saul through Jonathan and Merib-baal (Mephibosheth), listed in the genealogy of the Benjamite royal family in 1 Chronicles 8:35 and 9:41. He is one of four sons of Micah son of Merib-baal, belonging to the branch of Saul's line that survived into the post-exilic period. The preservation of this genealogy demonstrates the continued existence of Saul's lineage alongside the Davidic dynasty.
