Ziphion

Ziphion (also called Zephon in Numbers 26:15, giving rise to the Zephonite clan) was the firstborn son of Gad and a grandson of Jacob who went down with the family to Egypt (Genesis 46:16; Numbers 26:15). He is the eponymous ancestor of a Gadite clan, and his descendants are counted in the second census of Israel taken in the plains of Moab. The name variation between Ziphion and Zephon reflects the standard variant traditions found in the parallel genealogical lists of Genesis and Numbers.
