Zur

Zur was a son of Abiel (or 'Jeiel'), the founder of Gibeon, and a descendant of the tribe of Benjamin listed in the Saulide genealogy of 1 Chronicles 8:30 and 9:36. He belongs to the ancestral line that produced King Saul through the Benjamite families associated with Gibeon. A more prominent figure of the same name, Zur, was one of the five kings of Midian slain by Israel in the campaign recorded in Numbers 25:15 and 31:8, but this Zur is distinct from that Midianite chief.
