Achim

Achim was an ancestor of Jesus Christ in the post-exilic portion of Matthew's genealogy, listed as the son of Zadok and father of Eliud (Matthew 1:14). He lived during the period between the Babylonian exile and the birth of Jesus, a span during which the Davidic line was preserved but largely unknown to public history. Matthew's genealogy carefully traces the royal lineage through this otherwise obscure period, emphasizing that Jesus' credentials as the messianic heir of David were unbroken through every generation, including those recorded in no other source.
