The father of Hilkiah, who was the cousin of the prophet Jeremiah.
The father of Hilkiah the priest, a cousin of the prophet Jeremiah, is unnamed in the biblical text but is implied in Jeremiah 32:7–9, where Hanameel son of Shallum the uncle of Jeremiah comes to offer Jeremiah the right of redemption for a field in Anathoth. Jeremiah 1:1 identifies Jeremiah as 'the son of Hilkiah, one of the priests in Anathoth,' establishing that both Jeremiah's father Hilkiah and Hanameel's father Shallum were brothers from the same priestly family of Anathoth.
