Harhas

Harhas was the grandfather of Shallum, the husband of the prophetess Huldah, who was consulted by the officials of King Josiah when the book of the law was discovered in the temple (2 Kings 22:14; 2 Chronicles 34:22). Huldah's prophecy confirmed the authenticity of the book and announced both the coming judgment on Judah and the personal mercy God would show to the repentant Josiah. Harhas is remembered as the ancestor of the man married to one of the few female prophets explicitly named in the Hebrew Bible.
