Ibneiah

Old Testament

Ibneiah, a descendant of Benjamin, was one of the Israelites who resettled in Jerusalem after the Babylonian exile.

Ibneiah was a Benjamite, the son of Jeroham, who resettled in Jerusalem following the return from the Babylonian exile (1 Chronicles 9:8). His presence in the post-exilic settlement list reflects the broader effort to repopulate the holy city with members of the various Israelite tribes. As a Benjamite in Jerusalem, Ibneiah belonged to the tribe whose territory originally included the city, and whose members formed a significant portion of the returning community.
