Jahzerah was a priest who lived in Jerusalem after the exile.
Jahzerah was a priest, the son of Meshullam, listed among the priestly families who settled in Jerusalem after the Babylonian exile (1 Chronicles 9:12). He belonged to the priestly families who reestablished the temple service in the restored community. The priestly register in 1 Chronicles 9 and its parallel in Nehemiah 11 document the careful reconstitution of the sacred personnel necessary for the proper functioning of the second temple.
