Josech (or Joseph) is listed as one of the ancestors of Jesus Christ in the genealogy recorded by Luke.
Josech (a variant spelling of Joseph) appears in Luke's genealogy of Jesus as an ancestor in the line from David to Joseph, the husband of Mary (Luke 3:26). He is placed in the post-exilic generation between Joda and Semein in the descending list. As with many names in Luke's genealogy, Josech is otherwise unknown from the Old Testament record, reflecting the preservation of genealogical traditions not included in the Hebrew canon.
