Mahazioth

Mahazioth was a son of Heman appointed by King David as one of the twenty-four leaders of sacred song for temple worship (1 Chronicles 25:4, 30). His division—the twenty-third—was assigned by lot for the rotation of temple music. Heman's fourteen sons who led musical divisions are understood to embody the prophetic and visionary dimensions of Levitical song. Mahazioth is known only from this liturgical assignment.
