Abrahamic Covenant
God's foundational covenant with Abraham, promising land, descendants, and blessing to all nations. Genesis 12:1-3 initiated the covenant: 'I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you... and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.' Genesis 15:1-21 ratified it through a solemn ceremony, and Genesis 17:1-14 added circumcision as the covenant sign. This covenant is unconditional — God committed himself unilaterally. Paul argues in Galatians 3:6-9 that believers in Christ are Abraham's spiritual children and heirs of the promise. The Abrahamic covenant undergirds the entire biblical story of salvation.
