When Moses asks God's name at the burning bush, the answer 'I AM WHO I AM' (Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh) is the most discussed divine name in the Hebrew Bible. The Hebrew root hayah (to be) implies dynamic, ongoing existence rather than static being; some scholars render it 'I will be what I will be,' emphasizing future presence. The Septuagint rendered it as 'ho on' (the Being), influencing centuries of philosophical theology in the direction of divine self-existence.
